We correct errors openly. A review that hides its mistakes would undo the point of publishing the record.
01
How we correct
- A correction is visible. When we change what a review says, we add a dated correction at the end of the review, saying what was wrong and what it says now. We do not silently change a published claim. Spelling and formatting fixes are not listed.
- Our verdicts on objections can be wrong too. If an objection we marked mistaken turns out to have held, or the reverse, that is a correction like any other.
- A review that is wrong at its core is withdrawn, not deleted. The page stays, with a notice at the top saying what was wrong and when we withdrew it.
02
When authors disagree
Before we publish a review, we send the authors our account of their claims and the objections that held. They have five working days to tell us where we have misread their paper. We check each point they make against the paper and the other materials we examined, like any other objection. Every review says when the authors were sent it and whether they replied. With their permission, we publish their reply.
Authors can also write after publication. The same check applies, and a misreading they show us becomes a correction.

Report an error
Write to counterresearch@nym.hush.com. Tell us which review, which passage, and what the source says. We reply within five working days, including when we decide that no correction is needed.
